If you want to keep your thyroid you must manage it diligently.
It’s simple biology. The Graves antibodies (TRab – TSH Receptor Antibodies) attach to the TSH receptors on your thyroid.
Your endo or GP or Naturopath do not know how to manage your hyperthyroidism because they’re only taught to remove or ablate your thyroid in med school.
In med school doctors are taught very little about Graves itself.
It’s completely possible to keep your thyroid if you have dual diagnosis. But, odds are you do NOT have both Graves and Hashi.
Every year I see busy moms neglecting their vital thyroid self-care over summer vacation with detrimental results come fall.
Anti Thyroid Drugs (ATD) like Tapazole (TPZ), Methimazole (MMI), Carbimazole (CBZ), Neo Marcazole (NEO) and Propylthiouracil (PTU) do NOT cause weight gain.
