Topic of the Week!
Don’t let those close to you get you down with their lack of support and understanding.
This is your life not theirs and it needs no explanation. If they’re not supportive stop looking to them for support.
“I’m just not feeling well today” is a perfectly valid excuse for canceling plans.
We have good times and not so good times. It’s not necessary for others to accept this. It is necessary for you to accept it and be gentle and kind with yourself.
Their lack of compassion is a reflection of their shortcomings not yours. Acknowledging you need help and support means they might have to actually help and support you.
People who judge others are just small minded people who are insecure about themselves. Avoid people who must put others down to lift themselves up.
People who say you just need to try harder are sad souls who lack compassion. Don’t let their negativity in your head. It’s their problem not yours.
You’re doing the best that you can!! You’re learning to manage yourself well to live your best quality of life with a chronic illness. You’ve got this!!! Take comfort in knowing that WE all understand what you’re going through.
