We Must Limit Iodine!

We Must Limit Iodine!

Can you say… Thyroid Storm in 3, 2, 1…

Just 1 slice of this sushi pizza has about 15,000mcg of iodine! We are never allowed the 150mcg that is recommended for non Graves people because too much iodine is both thyroid fuel and it raises antibodies.

I can’t tell you how many people have triggered their Graves/Hyperthyroidism into activity with just a sushi habit. The culprits are the seaweed wrap and the fish. Sushi wrapped in soy paper can be ok depending on how much fish is involved and how much iodine you’re allowed.

As we move down the path to antibody remission our low iodine amounts change. We use the correct med dose (also ever changing) combined with the correct amount of low iodine to force our Graves thyroid into optimal levels. Our goal is the correct amount of iodine not “no” iodine so we can’t just eliminate it. Our thyroids need iodine to make hormone. Iodine is thyroid fuel.

Optimal thyroid levels refers to your own personal sweet spot where you’re symptom free not the too broad reference ranges given with our tests. Maintaining optimal thyroid levels is how we reduce antibodies to achieve full antibody remission. Average time to antibody remission is 2-4 years.

I can’t teach much more than this in the group setting since med and iodine intake amounts are not only ever changing but very individual. Please schedule a consult so I can teach you how to use the Thyroid Keeper’s Protocol and achieve full antibody remission.
