Why did I take the time to learn how to dose anti-thyroid meds?

Why did I take the time to learn how to dose anti-thyroid meds?

Simple, because our doctors don’t know!! I got soooo tired of seeing so many group members yo-yoing and roller coastering from thyroid levels too low to too high to too low again… repeat. I rode that roller coaster myself so I know how utterly miserable it is. Docs use a sledgehammer when it’s usually a chisel that’s needed. And yes, at times, even just 5mg a day can be a sledgehammer depending on where you are on the path to remission.

Another contributing factor is our doctors ignore the amount of iodine in our diet. This is an important part of the equation in maintaining optimal (not just normal range) thyroid levels that are needed to achieve antibody remission. MMI is safest in low doses so too much iodine in the diet requires higher doses to control your hyper thyroid. The most important diet restriction for your thyroid and Graves is the amount of iodine you consume. Iodine is what your thyroid uses to make hormone. We need the correct amount of iodine not to eliminate it entirely because we want optimal thyroid levels. Sure, there are other reasons to avoid unhealthy foods but they’re for other parts and processes in your body. My point is, I achieved full antibody remission while eating plenty of tacos and fried chicken. Don’t ask me about my weight though!

The Thyroid Keeper’s Protocol works and will not only save your thyroid but your quality of life.
