The Holiday Season and Stress Spikes
Wow! The number of stress spikes I’m seeing is off the charts again. Remember, even good and positive stress, not just negative stress, can have an impact on our numbers. Both thyroid and antibodies.
Now the holidays are coming and they can be very stressful and emotional for many of us. Please don’t neglect your health and self care!!
In addition to regular labs and proper management try these resolutions to help minimize unavoidable stress…
Edible lavender. Lavender can be taken several times a day.
Lemon balm tea. Make as many cups as you like.
L-Theanine. Promotes a general feeling of calm. Can be taken daily or every other day.
Meditation and breathing excersizes. Our high heart rates can cause low oxygen saturation. Spend a minute deep breathing several times a day along with your meditation.
Lavender scents from candles and oils in your environment help promote general calmness.
Epsom salt baths. Take a nice relaxing soak! I buy lavender epsom salt. Epsom salt is actually magnesium so no iodine.
Minimize spikes by diligently checking your labs and changing your dose and iodine intake to maintain optimal levels. Catch changes quickly before they get out of hand.
I hope these suggestions help!! Have a lovely calm holiday season!!
